Attorney William S. Walter (Bill) is fighting it out with the California Coastal Commission (CCC) and Offshore Wind (OSW) Energy Developers again! This time it is concerning the recently adopted "Statewide Strategy for the Coexistence of California Fishing” (SS) on April 16, 2026.  

Below is a short summary of his 40 page Writ of Mandamus, filed on July 15, 2026:

Bill states that the declarations of commercial fishermen, qualified scientists, scientific literature, and subject matter experts were not considered when approving the SS.

The SS incorrectly assumes that site surveys do not have potential for adverse impacts to fisheries and fishing habitats and therefore imposes no best practice protocols on site surveys and data collection.

So wish us luck and if anybody is available to come and support the fishermen in court we would greatly appreciate it.
