Featured Speaker - Lori French/Fishing Advocate: Lori will present details of a new Marine Protected Area proposed for an area covering about 3 miles of coastline stretching from Morro Rock north to the end of the Morro Strand Campground, and 2.5 miles offshore - a place long used for local commercial and recreational fishing - that would, if adopted, outlaw those activities.

The wife of a second generation commercial fisherman, Lori currently serves on the American Fisheries Advisory Council, is an alternate on the Morro Bay Harbor Advisory Board, a member of Central Coast Women for Fisheries, Morro Bay Commercial Fishermen's Organization, Port San Luis Fishermen's Association, Bodega Bay Fishermen's  Association and Pacific Coast Federated Fishermen's Association. She is also the Commercial Fishing Advisory Council Member for the Chumash Heritage National Marine Sanctuary.  Her goal is to support commercial fishing in anyway she possibly can!
