CALL TO ACTION:
The Board of Supervisors passed Resolution No. 2021-134 in 2021 supporting offshore wind. This passage was extremely premature as the ramifications and impacts of offshore wind were not known. The vote was 4 in favor with Supervisor Arnold recusing herself.
A good talking point for public comment would be the premature passage of this resolution.

For the last several years, the County of SLO has included Offshore Wind in their Legislative Platform - under the Board of Supervisors Priorities, yet they have failed to assess the support of the community in industrializaion of our county/harbors/ports. Talking points could include your concern with this and the premature action in support of Offshore Wind. The most recent document can be found here https://www.slocounty.ca.gov/departments/administrative-office/forms-documents/legislation/2023-legislative-platform with Offshore Wind mentioned on pages 11 and 13.
The Board did discuss an updated Legislative Platform on 1.14.2025, but made the following motion and did not adopt the new document.
MOTION: The Board approves the results of the straw-votes; authorizes staff and lobbyists to advocate for San Luis Obispo County, pending the County Administrative Officer bringing back a modified legislative platform document consistent with all the direction that was received from the Board today, at a later time.
The information on the “straw votes” can be found here in the minutes,
